Pohran brings her expertise in human-centred design and applied anthropology to our consultancy team.

Dr. Nadya Pohran has joined the team as Anthropologist and Community Researcher, effective immediately. Nadya holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge where she researched the interpersonal challenges that arise in diverse community settings. Everything she does is grounded in empathy and human-centred design principles: she helps individuals and communities to see the world with new perspectives and to create and implement holistic, nuanced solutions.

For years, Aluminati has distinguished itself as a company that not only offers a stunning tech platform for community building but which additionally provides vital expertise and support to its clients as they build and nurture their communities. Nadya’s background and skillsets in human-centred design will broaden and deepen the existing consultancy services that we offer to our clients.

Nadya will also work with both our Research and Marketing teams to analyse relevant data and create content that sheds insights into all aspects of community building.

“Nadya brings to Aluminati a depth of knowledge and understanding of community, cultures and the magic of human connection that perfectly complements our mission to help all the worlds’ communities thrive. As well as leading on original community research, Nadya will be available to our clients who may engage her to properly understand the needs of their communities. Her high-touch, embedded approach delivers insights that no traditional questionnaire can match. I am excited to see the many ways she will help deliver value to the communities we support and to the sector as a whole.” says Daniel Watts, Managing Director of Aluminati.

Prior to joining our team in a full-time capacity, Nadya wrote a series of articles for our blog about the definition and value of community.

Nadya has 8 years of experience in research design and qualitative methods and can select from her toolkit in order to deeply understand individuals, clearly articulate the challenges/problems they are experiencing, and create and implement customised solutions for them. She conducts ethnography, interviews, focus groups, surveys, questionnaires, journey maps, diary studies, and visual anthropology. Her areas of expertise include academic environments, religious diversity, cultural differences, mental wellbeing, and healthcare.
